With the First time home buyers program, the Columbia County Housing Authority focuses its attention and resources on assisting Columbia County residents in their becoming homeowners. To qualify for the First Time Home Buyers Program one must be a first time homebuyer or not have had an ownership interest in a residence during the previous 3 years.

The First Home Club2 is a matched savings program for prospective homebuyers in New York State. The program is financed by the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLB) and offers qualified first-time homebuyers the opportunity to earn $4 in grant monies for every $1 saved over a 10-to-24 month period.

The NJHMFA state-wide Down payment assistance program (DPA) provides $10,000 for qualified first-time homebuyers to use as down payment and closing cost assistance when purchasing a home in New Jersey. The DPA is an interest-free, five-year forgivable second loan with no monthly payment.. To participate in this program, the DPA must be paired with an NJHMFA first mortgage loan.
